In the School of Governmental and Social Sciences at Nelson Mandela University we want to encourage the love of exploration and curiosity.  We are home to some of the traditional Humanities disciplines, namely, Sociology and Anthropology, History and Political Studies, Public Management and Leadership, and Philosophy. In your time with us you will develop skills of reasoning, deliberation and research.

More than anything, we want students to learn to think and ask questions.
